Summary
A song about the Clearances, composed by Willie MacPhail. The bard laments the ill treatment of the people at the hands of the factor. Some have been evicted and their homes destroyed by the land agent.
Although Willie composed songs, the contributor only ever heard him sing once, at a wedding. He was a tailor and his house was a popular gathering place. The contributor recounts some anecdotes about incidents during such gatherings.
