Summary
In this sailor's song the composer describes his voyage from the Clyde. His thoughts are always on his sweetheart, Màiri, whom he has left behind. The state of the sea and the weather is described. The bard remembers first meeting his sweetheart and falling in love with her. If she takes another man he will be very sad. There are, however, plenty of flowers under the sun. He wishes the girl well and hopes that God will guide his ship to a safe haven.
