Summary
The composer tells of his sadness at being separated from the girl he loves, as he is imprisoned in France. He thinks of happier days when he would meet the girl, and remembers the happy times he spent hunting. He sends greetings to the girl, and says that if she marries before he is able to return, she should choose someone who is better than him.
