Summary
William, the son of the boss, asked the contributor to fetch a barrel of paraffin from the quay. The contributor asked him why he didn't do it himself, and he said he couldn't. He bet the contributor five shillings that he couldn't do it by himself either. The contributor managed to roll it into his cart. William never worked out how he did it, but he paid the money.
