Summary
Iain Garbh anchored in Loch Aoineart in Skye. It became stormy. An old man came with a boat and pulled it ashore with no difficulty. Iain sent a boy to the man to ask if he could have the use of his anchor along with his own one. The man refused. Iain himself then went to ask, and was told that "even if Iain Garbh asked for it, he would not get it". Iain then asked the man for help to lift his anchor, so that he could go, and the man came on board. Iain eventually told him who he was. When helping to lift the anchor, the man was killed. Iain ordered that the dead man should be brought ashore and left beside his own boat. Iain never went to that loch again.
