Summary
This heroic ballad tells how Caoilte, who was very swift, was sent to act as a guide for the Fingalians. He saw a house in which there was a maiden standing. A five-headed giant appears and the narrator cuts off his heads, sustaining wounds as he does so. He hears the voice of Ailinn and asks her to carry his shield to Dùn Tìl.
