Summary - Second-sighted woman has premonition of a death.
Jeannie Robertson has been warned before deaths, and has the misfortune of having the second sight. Her mother's only brother left Fetterangus for Aberdeen, saying he would be back in a few days. It was a night of terrible rain. Jeannie was lying in bed about 11.00, and told her sister to rise: she heard her uncle at the door calling their mother's name. Her sister looked, but couldn't see anybody. Next morning a man came to say that her uncle was dead. He had died at 11:00, and the last word he had said was her mother's name.
