Summary
This waulking song begins "There is snow on the mountains. / The wind has frozen it to the trees." The composer expresses the hope that the son of the earl will send her a message. She tells how her mother wants to marry her to a dun-coloured old man, who is blind and deaf. The final lines are addressed to Cameron of Lochiel from Lochaber, in whose arms the woman longs to be.
