Summary
Stock held on crofts in Colonsay.
Lord Colonsay let Kilchattan people use his bulls without charge. There was a mixture of Highland cattle and crossbreds in Colonsay in the contributor's youth. Information on wintering cattle. All cattle were milked in the old days. The contributor's father had four cows and followers, and two horses. Some people had a horse each and shared them. His father had twelve ewes and lambs. Lambs were sent to the sales in Glasgow. Cattle were not killed at all.
