Summary

Early in the spring the young man leaves for sea. He writes to his sweetheart but she does not reply. Through battles and dangers he still thinks of her. He returns home, but her father tells him that his daughter is married. He curses false lovers who marry for riches, and gives up women.

Willie Mathieson learned the song from Jimmy Jaffray.
