Summary - Gamekeeper's wife killed in a tragic accident at a cottage where Burke and Hare had been.
It is said the Burke and Hare stopped at a cottage at Glenapp but did not go in. A gamekeeper lived there and on the first day after he was married he left his gun behind the door when he came in. The wind blew the door shut and knocked over the gun, which went off and killed the woman. The house was a ruin in Sandy Archibald's time, with hazel or rowan trees growing through the roof.
