Summary
A sailor's love song to the girl he has left behind. He wonders where she is sleeping and wishes he could be by her side. Although he has sailed the world he has not seen another girl who compares to his sweetheart. He describes her beautiful hair and her beauty and declares that no music would lift his spirits from the sadness he now feels at being parted from her. He wishes he were a swan which could swim across the seas to his beloved so that he could declare his love for her.
