Summary

This ballad tells how the King of Scotland saw a beautiful woman in a dream and Fionn Falaich [Sir Gawain] went off in a ship to find her. When he finally found her, she was in a castle, and seated on a throne of gold. She asked him to put his head on her knee, so that she could play harp music for him. This made him fall into a charmed sleep. The woman took a sword from her belt and cut off his head.
