Item Notes - 3 verses of 4 lines, with chorus at start, between verses and repeated twice at end. Sung by a child.
Composed by Johnny Bannerman for his friend Mairi McNiven in 1935. Bannerman's original Gaelic song was later translated into the widely-known English version by Hugh Stevenson Roberton (1874-1952) (who also composed 'Westering Home').
