Summary
In the opening lines of this popular waulking song as sung here, a girl tells hows her lover has passed by on horseback, ignoring her completely. The lines which follow are in praise of Clan Donald, and tell how they swore on the Bible in Auldearn (1645) that their swords would not be sheathed until King James was crowned.
