Summary

The contributor gives information on the attitudes of the tenants to their chiefs who were their landlords. She recites lines from a waulking song. The Clanranald chief who built Ormaclete Castle, did so for his French wife, who was not impressed by the existing houses. The waulking song is sung in full. It praises the chief and his house.

Further information is given about Clanranald history. One chief's son became a commander on a battleship.
