Aberdeenshire cattle breeds and the demise of the indigenous horned breed.
Talk of the Stately Williamsons at St John's Wells, who were breeders and dealers in black, polled cattle, the Buchan Humlie. The other breed indigenous to Aberdeenshire was horned. The contributor has a hatstand inherited from his grandfather, made from the small horns of this breed. The last of the horned breed died out in 1883 at Pitbee farm near Pitcaple.
