Summary
Old letters for sale at auctions.
Donald MacCormick tells about letters that were for sale at an auction, written by a soldier in the British army at the time of the Battle of Culloden. Although Donald did not succeed in buying the letters, he did purchase a letter that was written in 1820 that gives an account of the confrontation between a landlord in Ross-shire and the crofters on his estate.
