Summary - An Episcopalian service book was undamaged after being covered by the tide.
A member of the Christie family of Skateraw told Dr Grant that his family possessed an early Episcopalian service book, which they regarded as a great treasure. It was a rarity, because it had been banned when the Episcopalian church was persecuted. A Christie ancestor had been on the shore reading this book when he saw soldiers coming. He hid the book behind a rock. By the time it was safe for him to go back for it the tide had come in and out again. However the book was completely undamaged.
This 'miracle' is reminiscent of a story told of St Margaret.
