Summary
Dr Grant experienced the reassuring sound and touch of her pet dog after its death.
While living in Kingussie during the Second World War Dr Grant had a pet cairn terrier that had to be put down because of a distressing respiratory complaint. One day while showing people round the museum she heard the sound of the dog's claws on the stair and felt the dog rub itself against her and kiss her hand. The dog's breathing was normal, and she felt assured that it had found relief in death.
