Summary - Jock Higgins' father escaped from burkers.
When travelling up north, Jock Higgins' father and another man got a night's lodgings in the barn of a farm. In the middle of the night they heard a coach with two horses approaching. They knew it was the burkers' coach, and jumped out of a back window to escape. They were pursued for about three miles, but escaped across the fields.
