Summary
Fairy rings in Wigtownshire; Irish fairy beliefs.
Helen Galloway has seen fairy rings of paddock steels [toadstools], for instance at the Bent. The one in the middle is for the fiddler, not the Deil [Devil]. Mention of a field called the Fairy Park. Harry MacCluskey, an Irishman, called a hawthorn tree standing on its own a 'fairy thorn'. Jack MacQueen mentions that there was a story about Harry MacCluskey hearing a banshee.
