Summary

Olghair's wedding to a girl after she lost an eye.

Olghair (of MacLeod of Dunvegan) had two daughters. Martin of Trotternish asked for the hand of one, but she refused. She had a pet goat which put her eye out with its horn and she later sent word to Martin saying she would marry him. Gilleasbaig Aotrom was at the wedding and toasted the bride and groom; praising the goat who had given Martin a bride and the company a wedding. There was not enough knives to go round so Olghair spread the butter with his thumb and passed it around.
