Summary

Forfar ball-game rhymes, with the actions of one described.

Jean Rodger recalls two of the many ball-game rhymes of her childhood. One was: "One, two, three a leerie, / I spy Mrs. Peary / Sittin on her bumbaleerie / Eatin chocolate babies."

Another was: "The big ship sails through the elli elli o [repeated] / On the fourteenth of September". At "elli elli o" the player put her leg over the ball, and at the end she bounced the ball and turned round.
