Summary
How Raghnall mac Ailein Òig composed 'Maol Donn'.
Raghnall mac Ailein Òig was walking along a sandbar and he picked up a shell and said, "You are my Maol Donn." He then composed the port mòr [pibroch] called 'Maol Donn' or 'MacCrimmon's Sweetheart'. Despite its name it isn't a MacCrimmon composition. The work is published in Angus MacKay's book.
