Summary

The story of the headless corpse and how Raghnall mac Ailein Òig despatched it.

A poor woman in Morar was caught stealing corn and was beheaded by Mac 'ic Dhùghaill. Her spirit, in the form of a headless corpse, lived in a cave in Camusdarach. She killed everybody who passed on the road beneath the cave. Raghnall mac Ailein Òig met her one night and they fought. He bundled her under his arm and took her home. When she saw the light from his house she begged to be released, but he refused. She promised never to disturb any member of Clan Dougall while they remained on the Morar estate. He let her go and she disappeared across the Sound of Sleat singing 'Far From Me is the Foot of Ben Edra'. She was never seen again.
