Summary

The story of the Grey Dog of Meoble and the contributor's encounter with it.

A young boy living in Meoble had a bitch. He went away for a year. The bitch had a litter of puppies and went to live on an island in Loch Morar. When the boy returned he was told what had happened. He went to see the dogs. The bitch recognised him, but the puppies attacked and killed him. Ever since then a grey dog has been seen before the death of a MacDougall. The contributor saw the Grey Dog of Meoble on his way home one night and a MacDougall died a day or two later.
