Summary
This is a love song in praise of a girl called Mary, daughter of Allan. The bard praises her beauty and character. If he is feeling unhappy, she makes him feel better. He had expected to remain single till he met her. He wishes he was a wealthy duke, and others would see proof of his love for her. People say he is silly, and that she will abandon him, but he is determined that he will not let her go from him.
