Summary - Iain Mac Alasdair and the man who pretended to be dead.
Iain Mac Alasdair stopped at inn on way to Falkirk with cattle. He stopped for the night, but was pursued by two riders. He went to a cottage for safety. There was a corpse in the house, weighted down on the plank, and the woman of the house told him to leave, but he stayed. She went out and the 'corpse' came alive. It was her husband pretending to be dead to catch his wife with her lover. The woman soon returned with a man, and her husband rose and beat her lover with the pot and chain. He had a good wife from then on.
