Summary
This ballad tells how the King of Britain saw a beautiful woman in a dream. Sir Falaich (Sir Gawain) went off in a ship to find her for him. He sailed for seven weeks and nine months. When he finally found the woman in a castle, she was seated on a golden throne. She asked him to put his head on her knee, so that she could play harp music for him. This made him fall into a charmed sleep. The woman took a sword from her belt and cut off his head.
