Summary

Clanranald and MacPhee of Colonsay.

MacPhee of Colonsay promised that any man who could jump over his wall with a horse could marry his daughter. Nobody could do this. Clanranald heard about it. He got a horse in Uist and shod it with silver horseshoes. He went to Colonsay. His horse jumped the wall with ease. MacPhee would not let Clanranald marry his daughter because he and the horse looked so ragged. Clanranald did not want to marry the daughter. He only wanted to prove that he could jump the wall with the horse.
