Summary

This song tells of the poet's joy on hearing that Prince Charles Edward Stuart is coming. He praises the prince's nobility and tells how there would be great rejoicing at the news of his coming. Locheil would lead the Gaels and Clan Donald would triumph against the Redcoat army. The dress of the Highlanders is described. The final section states the hope that the hated Duke of Cumberland would have a rope round his neck. His brother would be beheaded.
