Summary
This is a sailor's song. The composer describes crossing to Newfoundland. There was a bad storm and he and two other Gaels had to climb up to attend to the sails. The captain praised them for this. The French bosun on the ship is described. In the final section of the song, the composer thinks of those he left behind at home.

8 verses sung. Mr Munro learned the song from Roderick MacLeod of Miavaig in Harris who was at sea with him in 1913.
