Summary
Hopes that the numbers of capercaillie will increase.
Peigi Màiri Nicholson from the RSPB explains that capercaillie numbers are down to 2,500 because of the loss of area of the Old Caledonian Pine Forest, their natural habitat. The RSPB hope that by renewing the forest, more of the birds will be encouraged to breed and that numbers will increase.
