Summary

Maggie MacGregor had a large farm, was a carer for mentally handicapped girls, and was friendly and generous to Travellers.

Maggie MacGregor had a large farm near the Old Road of Lumphanan. She cared for mentally handicapped girls, whom she treated like her own family, though she received a government payment for it. She was a big woman, and Stanley Robertson's father used to supply her with big frocks. She was generous, and always gave the Travellers fresh milk. She was friendly to them, and would come into their camps for a chat.

Stanley mentions other places that were favourites with Travellers. However his father preferred the Lumphanan area because it was near his customers.
