Summary
A history of the MacQuarries of Eigg.
Lachlan MacQuarrie refused to convert to Protestantism and so the Laird of Coll told him to leave Rum. Clanranald offered him refuge in Eigg. A house was built for him at Grulin. The family remained there for many generations until Neil, the contributor's great-grandfather, moved to Cleadale in 1810. He gives Neil's patronymic, going back to Lachlan.
