Summary
This song praises the island of Barra. Amongst the virtues that are praised are the trout in the rivers, the fishing boats in full sail and the sweet breeze of the sea. The composer claims that Barra is the most beautiful place under the sun and, although he left the island, he never forgot his Gaelic, the language which was "written upon the tablets of Moses".
