Summary - A certain landowner left a hefty debt on the estate when he died. His son thought the he would have to sell up. However, he met a fellow in the woods who said he would help him. The son informed the priest, who warned him that this was the devil, and advised him to take a Bible to their next meeting. They met the following morning, and when the cock crew, the other fellow disappeared in a ball of fire. The landowner's son found a bag of gold and silver nearby, and used the devil's money to pay off his debts. However, this did not bode well for the future.
