Summary - The landlord tricked by his wife into losing his estate.
A landlord asked a crofter three questions. He had to answer them in three days or be put to death. His daughter told him the answers. The landlord asked to marry her because she was so clever. She agreed on condition that she could take three things with her if he put her out of the house.
Two crofters on the estate fell out about the ownership of a colt. The landlord and his wife also fell out with each other about the matter. He asked her to leave. She took with her the child, the estate documents and the landlord himself. She put the child and documents back inside and told the landlord to leave. The heir to the estate and the documents were hers.
