Summary
Information about old-style weddings the contributor attended.
The contributor discusses an old-style wedding he attended in Balemartin. He and three other boys went along. There was a dance in the barn where the wedding feast tables were laid out. An old woman kept giving them hens. When they went home they had amassed enough to feed them for two or three days.
The dance was held after the wedding and continued until midnight. It was followed by another feast and then there was more dancing until morning. The ministers attended the feast and said grace. They went home after that. They wouldn't take a drink.
