Summary
An Australian explorer born in Skye.
Angus MacMillan was born in Glen Brittle in Skye. About 1820, at the age of nineteen, he left for Australia on the Minerva. He worked on a farm and during a very dry summer he entered an area no white man had been in before, to find new grazing for the cattle. He was met by a native tribe who had bows and arrows fixed on him. To show them he came in peace he offered them beads.
