Summary
In this song a girl laments her lover who was drowned at sea. She goes on to describe how the boat left the Point of Stoer on Monday and struck the headland. Her lover jumped overboard and saved his companions. She has climbed high to a place from where she can see the point, and she remembers her dead lover.
Item Notes
5 quatrains sung. Place name evidence suggests that the song probably originated in West Sutherland. Cf. 'Tocher' 35, p. 314.
