Summary
A man killed a dog because he thought it had mauled a baby.
The contributor's grandfather and granduncle went to Canada. They took a collie dog with them. One day a man they knew in Canada left the dog guarding his baby. When he returned home the cradle was upturned and there was blood round about the dog's mouth. The man killed the dog. He later saw a snake which had been killed by the dog. The child was unharmed. The man was heartbroken because he had killed the dog.
