Summary
The contributor remembers seeing fishermen camped at Cornaig and a farmer buying half a ton of salted fish.
When the contributor was a boy he saw fishermen [from the east coast] who had little thatched huts, which they called tents, to stay in. They brought the fish ashore and dried it on the rocks. A farmer in Barrapoll, for whom the contributor's father worked, bought half a ton of salted fish. It was to be shared out at the two farms his brother, a publican in Greenock, had in Mull. It was cheaper than buying it in Glasgow. It was ling.
