Summary

Lachlann Mòr of Duart and the Battle of Gruinart Sands.

Lachlann Mòr of Duart was very strong. He fought his sister's son, Seumas Ìleach, at the Battle of Gruinart Sands. A dwarf from Jura asked if he could join Lachlann's side and was turned away. He went to Seumas Ìleach's side and was welcomed. He climbed a tree and killed Lachlann with a bow and arrow. The Islay men won the battle.

Lachlann's body was carried in a plaid to Kilchoman for burial. Any bearer who lost his grip was killed on the spot. The son of Lachlann Mòr's wife, who was born before she married, laughed as the body shook while being carried. His mother killed him.
