Summary

Drovers and the evil eye.

If anyone refused to sell a beast to a drover, it would not be right afterwards. Luckspenny was a silver coin, such as a half-crown, which was given to the drover once he had bought a beast. This was done to put good luck on the beast. The person would spit on the coin and put it in his pocket.
