Summary
This waulking song begins: "There is snow on the mountains / The wind has frozen it to the trees." The composer expresses the hope that the earl's son will send her a message. She tells how her father wants to marry her to a dun-coloured old man, who is blind and deaf. The final lines are addressed to Cameron of Locheil from Lochaber, in whose arms the woman longs to be.
