Summary

This waulking song is in the form of a man's love song. It begins: "I like the maiden, though I didn't win her for myself. I like the golden-haired maiden who climbs the hill." The composer, who is in hospital in England, goes on to send greetings to Dunvegan, to the merchants of Leith and also the men in Harris. The composer also sends greetings to the "noble lady's page", though he says of him: "His words were the ones that convicted me."
