Summary
This waulking song has been sung in four sections. In the first, a woman describes being alone on an island with two children. Her husband, a hunter, is dead. The second section contains the puzzling lines about the "white stirks" who sail to Ireland in the moonlight. Section three praises the brave men who can row to St Columba's anchorage. The final section praises various clan chiefs.
