Summary
Professor Colm O'Baoill talks about St Ninian.
Little is known about St Ninian, a missionary before St Columba. A Briton, he founded a monastery in Whithorn and he may have been the first person to bring Christianity to Scotland. Some people believed he died in 397AD, but there is no evidence. He would have spoken Cumbric, a language similar to Welsh.
